Great Days of Service
Great Days of Service
three focused days of a community coming together to serve and assist any and all
june 9-11, 2011
This cooperative effort among churches, businesses,
community volunteers, and the City of Howe is dedicated
to assist our neighbors who may be physically or financially
unable to provide needed home repairs or improvements.
Each morning of the Great Days of Service begins at 7:00 a.m. with a breakfast. At this breakfast we will eat, pray, divide into work crews, and assign jobs to those crews.
The work crews include:
Operation Eden: crews that clean up yards, mow, weed-eat, and trim.
Serve the City: crews that clean ditches, pick up trash, and help keep up public parks.
Home Improvement: crews that specialize in house repair, painting, lumber, and
porches.
Friday, June 10, will feature a Public Servant’s Lunch at noon at the First United Methodist Church in Howe. We invite all employees who work at City Hall, the Police Department, the Post Office, and the School Administration to enjoy a free lunch to let you know that your community appreciates you.
